Thoughts on Learning 2.0

Even though this is the end of the tutorial, I feel that I am just beginning. This gave us a taste of a lot of information on the web yet to be explored. I am using del.icio.us, flikr, blogger, and anticipate exploring further all the other sites as time allows. Thanks for introducing us to these new web tools. I look forward to attacking new projects using them. I would like to participate in future tutorials.

netLibrary

I set up an account and downloaded an ebook to read later. This opens up a whole new collection to explore. Maybe some of the books I have requested in hard copy will be available here so I don't have to wait so long!

Yahoo Podcasts

I was able to listen to a podcast about comics, and I found some interesting ones on knitting. These would be fun to listen to while doing some other mundane tasks at the computer, like paying my bills. I can't wait to get my MP3 player and try some out! I was unable to figure out the itunes and one of the others would not work on my computer.

YouTube

I enjoyed the library video "Ray of Light" which fast forwarded through "fascinating" library activities. I also enjoyed the "library dominos" video.

HipCal

I tried out HipCal. It's like having my very own e.vents calendar. I have posted all my storytimes and schedule irregularities for October.

Word Processing Online

It's nice to know that this software is available online. I was able to create a "Word" document and email it to myself. I do not have Powerpoint at home. At some point I will review this site to see if they have something comparable that I can use at home.

Wiki Sandbox

I wrote a post about my favorite book!

Wikis

Wikis are great for collaboration and sharing discussions. They probably would not be a reliable resource for research. They are great for getting input from library users. I look forward to exploring this in more depth.
